A Better Routeplanner is now available in Home Assistant, the open source smart home platform, starting with Home Assistant 2026.11. You can now see your electric vehicle next to the rest of your home and use it in your automations.
ABRP is now available in Home Assistant. Link your ABRP account and every car in your garage shows up with live sensors for charge, range, charging status, and battery health. Setup takes a minute and needs no API keys.
What you get
Every vehicle in your ABRP garage becomes a device in Home Assistant, with sensors that update in near real time as ABRP receives data from your car:
- State of Charge (SoC) and estimated battery energy
- Estimated range
- Charging state, including whether you are charging on AC or DC, plugged in, or not charging
- Charging power, battery voltage, and battery temperature
- Odometer, State of Health (SoH), and battery capacity
It works with the EVs ABRP supports. The integration is read-only, it shows what your car is doing, and leaves controls like charging and climate to your manufacturer's own integration.
Getting started
Update to Home Assistant 2026.11 or later, then go to Settings, Devices & services, Add Integration, and search for A Better Routeplanner. Sign in with your ABRP account and your cars are added automatically.
Account linking runs through Home Assistant Cloud, but it is free and does not need a Home Assistant Cloud subscription. You do not need API keys or a developer account either. The integration documentation has the full list of sensors and troubleshooting tips.
Built by ABRP
The integration was built by Martin Andersson on the ABRP team, and we maintain it as well. Questions and ideas are welcome on the Home Assistant Community forums, and we would love to see what you build with it.
